Being a Business major is stressful in more ways than one. Not only do you have to complete a ton of Business credit hours, you have to decide what type of business career track you want to take, and more importantly you have to decide if you're going to get right into the career field, or if your going to continue with school and get your Masters in Business Administration.
With all of these things on your mind, it's very hard to figure out what you want to do. With the current economic situations, it makes it even more difficult because there are not as many jobs available for graduating college students. But on the the other hand, can you really pay for graduate school with just a part time or entry level full time job? Unless you want to go in to even more debt than you already are in, the answer is probably not.
Since I have many of these questions myself I did a little research on the benefits and the not so beneficial aspects of getting a Masters, here's a few things I found:
Benefits*
~Higher pay than people who only have only an undergraduate degree
~More involved job opportunities that may have more benefits
~You build a larger network, just by meeting and working with more people.
~Gain more skills by taking more classes at a graduate level
Disadvantages*
~Smaller firms that you may be applying to might consider you to be too expensive
~The cost of attending graduate school is expensive, and the results may not be worth it
~Employers interviewing you may feel as if you are threatening their position, and therefore may not hire you
If you find that you want some more information about a higher Business Degree you can check out the websites below, or you can do your own research on the internet, or stop in to the Career Services Office library!

Hopefully with whatever choice you decide you can be successful after college! (At least, that's what I'm hoping)

Is Teaching Right for You? Check out AMERICA READS
Are you not sure if teaching is the right career path for you? Do you want some experience with children? Enjoy volunteering your time to help students?
If any of these apply to you, then enroll in the America Reads Internship Program!
America Reads allows students from SUNY Brockport to interact with children in the Brockport Central School district (grades K-6). With this internship program you can gain experience working with children, interacting with teachers, and it will also strengthen your résumé for that future teaching position you hope to land. America Reads is the only internship program that freshmen are eligible to participate in and the internship can be paid or volunteer, based on your work study status. You will only get paid if you have work study, otherwise it is solely voluntary service.
***If you are eligible for work study, the starting pay is $8.00 an hour***
Basic qualifications are: minimum 2.5 GPA, and your availability must be between regular school day hours (7:30am-3:30pm). Students must be able to tutor a minimum of 6 hours a week.
If you are chosen as a tutor for America Reads, you must enroll in the class EDI360, which is an upper-division elective credit course. The course content includes weekly meetings, reflective journals, case studies, and term papers. You may only receive a maximum of 6 credits for the program (3 for 2 semesters).
Tutors have a main responsibility assisting the Brockport School District by providing services to students in grades K-6, however there may be other responsibilities assigned to the tutor. Responsibilities may include: correcting papers, monitoring and maintaining discipline, clerical duties, or duties assigned by other faculty members.
